About me
I am Susan Hoppert-Flämig—a coach, consultant, counsellor, and trainer—and since 2020, I have been guiding clients through coaching processes, team consultations, seminars, and various other formats.
My true passion lies in relationship- and perception-oriented one-on-one sessions, though I am equally at ease working with teams and groups. I work creatively and employ a wide range of methods. I like to incorporate various levels—thoughts, emotions, and the body.
I came to the field of coaching through my background in conflict research. Exploring the nature of conflict—and, ultimately, the nature of our differences—absolutely fascinates me. A well-managed dispute need not lead to destruction; instead, it can pave the way for liberating change.
During my doctoral studies at the Department of Peace Studies at the University of Bradford (UK), I conducted in-depth research into phenomena of violence and public security in Central America. As an academic, I collaborated with scholars and experts from numerous countries, including Pakistan, South Africa, Argentina, and Northern Ireland. I lived for several years in the UK, El Salvador, and Honduras, gaining significant intercultural competence along the way.
Eventually, I realised that researching and teaching about conflict was no longer enough for me. I wanted to actively help shape and witness processes of change firsthand. Consequently, I undertook a two-year advanced training program to become a certified coach and conflict consultant (ATCC), after which I established my own independent practice.
I live with my family in Leipzig, though I love to travel and work both internationally and remotely.
I provide coaching in English as well, and I also speak Spanish—albeit a slightly rusty version!
